Incubation and Embryology Exhibit for Penn Center’s Youth Day

Each year we participate in the Youth Day program at Penn Center during their Heritage Days Celebration.  We present information about animals on our homestead usually just chickens because they are small and easy to transport.  This year our exhibit about chickens included information on incubation and embryology.  As a home school this is like presenting at a science fair. A great deal of information is gathered and prepared for display and to present to all the school groups that come by.

We had a great day sharing about the incubator that had 2 dozen eggs, baby chickens and grown chickens.  In addition we talked about the parts of the egg, stages of the embryo, the brooder after hatching, feed and care.
