Smells by Christopher Morley – Famous poems, famous poets. – All Poetry

http://allpoetry.com/Smells

This is our poem of study in literature class today. Smells and aromas can bring things, places, events, and people to mind. They can open the treasure chest of memories and summon emotions. Several smells listed in the poem are favorites of mine. I agree with fresh ground or brewed coffee, onions sauteing, but also the combination of bacon cooking and coffee brewing, freshly mowed grass, bread baking, the crunch of leaves in fall, honeysuckle blossoms, and fresh lavender all come to mind as favorites.  Smells!
