Home school and 4-H, a Great Combination

One of the advantages of homeschooling is the freedom to participate in events, go on field trips or provide community service regularly and even spontaneously.  Yesterday, Sarah and Peter had the opportunity serve as 4-H Ambassadors during our school day at B&B farm in Santee.  Peter taught the children from Bowman Elementary School how to make and launch simple handmade paper rockets.  Sarah popped popcorn for the children as a treat.  The kids had a great time and learned how air pressure can be used to do things like launch rockets. A few weeks ago, Sarah demonstrated how to care for chickens to groups visiting the livestock barn at the Orangeburg County Fair.  These are valuable leadership experiences that will certainly benefit both Sarah and Peter in the future.
